  1. I think Insulin resistance of the brain owns the Lion’s share of the blame regarding the cause of Alzheimer’s disease. Luckily there is a great strategy to avoid halting and even reverse Altzhiemers in the form of a Ketogenic diet.

    1. Hi Nick, thanks very much for your insight! I think you may be right, in many cases this seems to be pivotal. I have also seen cases where this is not the main issue, but like you say it may be the Lion’s share. Thank you for showing up at Carry on Camping and bringing such useful information to the fore. Stay well and live long!

  2. Excellent to see the VAGUS NERVE mentioned by your good self Garuth and ‘gut-brain connection’ I would like to add a further brain connection and that is the ‘heartbrain,’ which sends masses of information to the head brain. (Check out ‘Heartmath Institute in the US ) This is where emotion is so important and that includes oodles of self love.

    1. Hi Penny and welcome on board! I’m glad you are finding the information stimulating. Yes, I’m very aware of the good work over many years of Rollin McCraty, PhD and the HeartMath Institute, and as you say making that ‘heart-brain’ connection. Nowadays, with the internet there is no limit to good, credible and useful information. What the Dementia Pioneers do is sift through tons of this daily and consider from the perspective of a person with symptoms known as ‘dementia,’ how to best curate, translate and produce easy to digest, practical, useful, actionable (and of course scientifically proven) materials (blogs, pamphlets, booklets, workbooks, events, workshops and a website) to inform and empower people to help themselves. I am grateful to know you personally, to witness first-hand your intellectual prowess, and you are most welcome here! Stay well, Hugs, Garuth x
